I want to focus on issues that effect Northern Michigan, which may not mirror the issues that concern other areas of Michigan. For the 107th District, I believe that the number one issue is the environment, specifically, Line 5 and the threat it poses. The economic life of the District is based on recreation, hiking, hunting, fishing, tourism, summer residents, skiing, snowmobiling, etc. If we don’t keep Northern Michigan “Clean and Green,” both our “quality of life” and our economy will suffer.
